Description

A most unusual antique card case modelled as a book the spine being decorated with a floral engraving.

The wooden carcus is covered in horn and the central panels both sides are decorated with a chequered design created with Ivory and horn tiles.

Another unusual feature is the way the card case is opened, with a panel one end sliding off to access the visiting cards.

One small edge chip, insignificant but shown and mentioned for accuracy.

Excellent condition with a good shiny patina. 4 1/8" x 2 7/8".
