Vintage 1929 Silver Box, George Elisha Sumner

1900 - 1920
Description

A handsome 1920s silver box, originally a cigarette box but could be used as a trinket box in almost any room in the house.

The box measures approximately 17.5cm wide, 9cm from back to front and 5.5cm high. It has faint initials to the top, HFL, and two sets of rubbed hallmarks to the side for London 1929; the maker's mark is difficult to make out but possibly George Elisha Sumner. There is some damage to some of the corners, and also some 'dings' and marks commensurate with its age.

The inside of the box is nicely lined with mahogany.
