North Wales Oak Tack Cupboard C.1820.

Description

Lots of useful storage space inside this early 19th.c. North Wales oak tack cupboard c.1820. Designed to stand in an entrance hall it would have provided useful storage for clothing and riding gear which could be hung from the three rows of original wooden peg hooks in the top. With three drawers in the base (the top three drawers are dummy fronts to allow extra hanging height) retaining the original brass knobs. Shaped cornice, panelled sides with original scumbling and diamond escutcheons – typical of furniture produced on the island of Anglesey in the early 19th.c. Very good condition. Could be easily fitted with shelves to make a kitchen pantry cupboard.

Dimensions: width 54", depth 19", height 79".
