Large Antler Horn Handled Magnifying Glass - English Sterling Silver Fittings - 1901

Description

A large example, measuring 9 1/2" in length with a glass diameter measuring 3 1/2".

The antler horn handle is finished with a solid or sterling silver terminal, highly decorative and embossed with an English Design Registration number for the year 1896.

The nickel framed glass is of course new, making it very usable piece, without damage, clear and with a good magnification. The sterling silver ferrule joins the handle and glass with a full English hallmark for Sheffield 1901, so very late Victorian or early Edwardian in era.

A superb, grand and impressive desk accessory in excellent condition.
