Antique 19th C Carved Armchair

Description

A Well Shaped 19th Century Needlework Armchair, the frame with a swept top rail and channel mouldings. The top rail with carved decoration of flowers, the channel moulding sweeping down to the shaped arms, with elbow pads, above a seat supported y a swept frieze, decorated with floral carving to the frieze and knees. The tapering legs swept down to small scroll toes. the whole upholstered in original needlework, depicting classical vases, with flowers and leaves.

Good contrast of rich wood and somewhat faded original needlework.
