Description

A fabulous and top-quality fruit basket made from silver plate, as useful today as 120 years ago, the perfect piece for the centre of your dinner table, filled with fruits and chocolates.

The beautifully shaped rim is pierced or reticulated as is the swing handle. The panels of the basket have repousse or embossed decoration incorporating fruits and flowers, all beautifully hand chased.

The underside of the foot is where the full mark can be found for the silversmith, George Bowen of Birmingham. Excellent condition measuring 12 1/2" in diameter x 9 1/2" tall to top of swing handle while upright.
