Pair of Oil Portraits of a Gentleman and Lady Dateline George III Period 1760 to 1800

Description

A decorative pair of George III period (1760-1800) oil portrait paintings on canvas,set inside their original re-guilded frames,priced to sell at near trade value.

Presumably they are man and wife and completment each other nicely as ideal decorative wall pieces.

The aristocratic gentleman is depicted in armour with his loyal pet dog being by his side.

His loyal and noble wife is shown wearing her elegant satin blue gown with a marble pillar seen behind her.

The pair are really attractive works,soley meant to lavish the walls of a large palladial home of distinction,serving to display a persons wealth through possessions of charm.

CONDITION

Frames recently re-guilded to tidy and canvases have been lightly cleaned and varnished some years ago.
