The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1860s.
The watch comes with a key. The movement is protected by an inner fitted dust cover. The movement hinges out of the front of the case and is signed W S Mackay, chronometer maker, Dundee.

The watch measures 41.5mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the back covers for Chester 1867. The case is in nice condition with only light marks from use. The case back has monogrammed initials to the central cartouche. The inner case back has light surface scratches from use.

The watch glass has light marks from use.
The dial is signed W S Mackay, Dundee. The dial has faint hairline cracks to the outer edge although hardly noticeable.
