Gents 1951 Omega Wrist Watch

A gents early 1950s Omega wrist watch.

The watch has a calibre 283 hand-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around one minute or so over a 24 hour period. The movement is signed Omega, Swiss, 17 Jewels, and it has the serial number 13,223,453 which dates it back to 1951.

The watch measures 32.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and the condition is good for its age with just general surface marks and also a 1cm scratch to the back. The inside of the case back has the Omega triangular stamp and also the case reference 2496 which is correct for the calibre of movement. The winding crown is a non-Omega replacement.

The lens has a 1mm chip, between 9 and 10, but otherwise looks good with just very light marks.

The textured dial has the applied Omega logo and is also signed Omega. Some light marking / rubbing but not very noticeable. Original dauphine shaped hands and red centre seconds hand.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.
