A War Time Painted Steel Desk Lamp

1920 - 1940
Description

Dating from around the second World War, this was possibly a government issue lamp.

It is made of painted steel and has the original Bakelite shade. We have recently had the lamp completely rewired with brown fabric cable for the UK, and kept the press button 'on' 'off' switch. We have also added a felt base to allow it to be used on any desk or table.

The lamp measures 33cm in height, and has a 13cm eight sided base with a shade that measures approximately 22cm.

There is a slight hairline surface crack in the shade, but it can barely be seen. The colour of both the shade and lamp is a dark, soft brown - more of the colour shown in photographs 2 - 5.

Postage and packing within the UK mainland only is included in the price.
