A Brass Antique Banker's Lamp

1900 - 1920
Description

This banker's or desk lamp dates from around 1910-1940 and is taller than some from that period.

It measures 47cm in height, with a 16cm in diameter base and the shade is 23cm in width.

We have recently had it rewired for the UK market with flex cable, keeping the flick on and off switch on the base. The initials GR with a faded symbol can be seen on the edge of the base (shown in photograph 2) and is probably the Maker's mark. Although we can't trace the exact firm, we suspect it was made in Birmingham where a lot of good quality lighting from that period was made.

It is a fine quality lamp with a weighted base (newly felted) and it has a replacement glass shade, and it is in excellent condition.

The price includes postage and package within the UK mainland only.
