19thc Carved Wood Framed Mirror

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a very unusual mirror frame, it could possibly have been part of a screen converted into a mirror, but it is made of a Far Eastern wood.

Fruit, leaves and what appear to be squirrels are all around the frame, with what looks like a fairly old backing, however the gilt sleeve and mirror have been replaced at some stage.

We believe the design to be from around 1880.

The mirror measures 110cm in length and 67cm in width, the frame itself is approximately 11cm in thickness all around.

We would prefer the buyer to collect from Surrey, or we can arrange a courier to deliver at a reasonable cost within mainland UK.

It can be viewed in the Surrey area by appointment - please call or email.
