A Superb Quality Victorian 12 Drawer Deal and Mahogany Collectors Cabinet Circa 1890.

Description

This fine twelve drawer cabinet in deal and mahogany would have been utilised as a table top or 'cabinet top' piece in order to protect and display a collection or add to an existing set of drawers of a similar nature.

Beautifully made with quality and precision and in superb original condition. All the drawers have very closely fitting glazed frame tops and a hidden universal cell around the inside perimeter. The drawers are papered and have a layer of cork to the base.

The drawers are all finished to their fronts in matching 'fiddle back' mahogany, the very best! They are made to a level of skill unparalleled by makers today with finely cut joints and a precision seldom seen. The cabinet has all the original fittings and lock and key and all the glass is original.

This is a highly versatile and attractive piece of furniture and is commended.

Width. 39.75 inches.

Front to back. 19.5 inches.

Height. 14 inches.

Drawers.

Width. 18 inches.

Front to back. 16 inches.

Overall depth. 2 inches. (imperial depth).
