Masons Antiques has dated this piece to the 1860s.
The 8 day, twin fusee movement, made by top German maker WINTERHALDER & HOFFMEIRE, strikes on a gong on the hour.

The mahogany case is beautifully polished and has sound-fret opening doors to either side of the backbox and a drop down door to the base. It has an oval glazed aperture to the lower half of the case through which the heavy brass pendulum can be seen working. Even the pegs holding the clock to the backbox are original, which is quite unique.

The 12" off white dial has black Roman numerals with black spade hands and is signed "TIDMARSH. FULHAM RD." It has a brass bezel and silvered sight ring.
