A Victorian Light Oak Library Table

19th century
Description

An early high quality Victorian Library Table, having wonderful colour and original condition. Raised on turned and reeded legs with unusual decorative brass castors. The table having high quality Mahogany lined drawers with solid oak fronts, retaining the original handles, locks and escutcheons. There are 6 working drawers, 3 to each side. The top having a antique green leather decorated with blind and gilded tooling. The table stamped to both middle drawers by maker T. Wilson, 68 Queens Street, London.

Thomas Wilson is listed at 68 Great Queen Street, London as a cabinet maker, fine furniture broker, auctioneer and appraiser (1799-1854). See G.Beard & C.Gilbert, Dictionary of English Furniture Makers 1660-1840 p.985.
