Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1870s.
The drainer allows for water to drip through so that the ice isn't sitting in water. What makes this a rather special and more desirable piece is the presence of an English design registration diamond shaped lozenge having been incorporated into the glass at the bottom of the interior, the registration mark is for February 8th 1878.
Excellent condition, measuring 5 1/4" tall (excluding handle) with a rim diameter measuring 4 3/4".
