Rare Music or "Harpist's" Chair by Gillows

Description

GILLOWS of LANCASTER: a lovely quality and rare early/mid 19th century mahogany MUSIC or HARPIST'S CHAIR in lovely condition almost certainly by this fine firm of Cabinetmakers.

The upper back rail is veneered in finest "flame" mahogany, with carved cresting and carved "ears" whilst the centre back rail is similarly carved. The upholstered seat can be raised at will via the long screw-thread, and it is supported on typical Gillows turned and reeded legs with delightful carved 'collars' to the feet.
