Description

A fabulous Victorian Crocodile or Alligator cigar case mounted with sterling silver, hallmarked for London 1883.

There is the most magnificent mount to the front with a very regal Coat of Arms engraved; Out Of A Ducal Coronet Or, A Garb Between Two Sickles with a motto beneath, Et Dieu mon appuy meaning And God my support.

Having done some investigation, I believe it to be for Thomas Hungerford of Cahermore, Roscarbery, County Cork, Ireland.

Excellent condition, measuring 5" x 3 1/2".
