The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1950s.
The watch has a grade 641 hand-winding movement which is signed Elgin, USA. There was just one manufacturing run of the grade 641, with a total of 15,000 made. This particular movement is numbered F65719 (which makes it number 12,719 of the 15,000 run).

The watch measures 27mm wide excluding the winding crown and 28mm high excluding the lugs. The case is 10k gold filled. The condition of the front is very good with just the odd minor mark. The back of the watch is unusual in that it has a round screw-on back within a square case. There are some scratches to the back.

The lens has a 2mm scratch but otherwise is in good condition.
The dial is signed Elgin De Luxe, Shockmaster. It is in its original finish; there is some discolouration and a little marking but overall, it has a really good vintage look. Gold coloured hands, subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
A later brown leather strap has been fitted.
