Antique English Burl Walnut and Tunbridge Inlaid Table or Desk Box C.1860

Description

A really fabulous example of it's type, particularly good quality with it's fine quality and intricate inlay.

The top and front is veneered in the most beautiful burr Walnut with it's rich Cognac colour and decorative grain. The front and top are inlaid with fine quality geometric Tunbridge inlay. The centre of the lid and the escutcheon (containing a tasselled key for display only - not working) has an inlaid plaque of micro-mosaic Tunbridge Ware.

The interior has been beautifully re-lined in a marbled paper, creating a fresh and clean interior ready for use. Perfect to store all sorts of items in or simply enjoy it's beauty.

Excellent condition with a good bright patina. 11 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 5 1/4" tall.
