An unusually heavy sterling silver tea set, comprising tea pot, sugar bowl and milk jug.
It was made by the Atkin Brothers and the three pieces are clearly hallmarked for Sheffield, with the dates 1924, 1925 and 1926. The hallmarks are to the right of each handle and there is a partial hallmark on the tea pot lid.
The tea set is of rectangular, bombe form with reeded edge and engraved with an initial (W). Each piece stands squarely upon four ball feet which are firmly attached to the bodies of all three pieces.
The tea pot has a wooden handle and finial, both of which are secure. The sugar bowl is twin-handled.
Total weight is 1,189g.
The silver is in excellent condition.
