Beautiful Antique Silver Repousse Dish 1896 - Comyns

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Silver Cabinet

This is a beautiful solid sterling dish assayed in London in 1896 and made by the highly collectable silversmith, William Comyns.

It is oval in shape, with four inward ''dimples'' to produce an interesting variation to the otherwise smooth lines. The repousse work is detailed and sharp, as one would expect of this renowned silversmith.

The sides are raised at the ends and fall more horizontally towards the middle of each length, creating a wavy effect.

The hallmarks are on the base and they are crisp and clear.
