This beautiful water ewer was made by the illustrious Barnard family, being hallmarked with the makers'' mark of Edward, John & William Barnard.
The hallmarks are under the spout and clearly show the assay office of London, 1846.
The inside of the spout is gilded and the handle rises proudly above the spout, giving an overall height of 15 cm.
The ewer weighs 140g.
The decoration is stunning, with an angel to each side, ribbon detail around the neck and swirls of patterns to the front and back. The pedestal base is clear of decoration, and the base sits squarely on the surface.
This piece is in perfect condition - any ''imperfections'' seen in the photographs result from a lack of photographic ability, not damage to the item.
A beautiful and elegant piece by this famous silversmith family.
