Hand of Glory has dated this piece to the 1880s.
With a portrait roundel to the top corners, the right hand example dated 1888. The velvet applique work is hand painted with foliate swags emanating from a lions mask and applied with corded rope detailing throughout. Lined in a mustard coloured cotton backing.
In generally good condition, some of the ropework cording is missing and detached in places.
304cm high x 181cm wide. Aperture measures 262cm x 87cm.
