WWI Military Leather Satchel Bag & Dog Tag

1900 - 1920
Description

A WWI period leather shoulder bag or satchel, with wide strap, brass buckle and heavy brass suspension loops, inner pocket to the front, the bag is stamped at the front with an 'INDUSTRIA' trade mark and a bee symbol, it is also stamped in 13 places with the name 'H. DORAN', together with a WWI dogtag on an original suspension chain marked 'DORAN H.V. R.W KS16.1936 C.E'.

The bag and strap are configured to hang high to the right hand side of the chest, and has seen a great deal of use. Fabulous patination, one tab possibly re-stitched with copper re-enforcing rivet.

21cm high x 24cm wide, 63cm from the top of the strap to bottom of bag.
