This is a rare opportunity to buy a highly collectible boxed collection of Scott's Poetical Works dating to c.1870.

What is so very special about this particular example is the condition, the box is superb as are all the books, the gold tooling on the interior and the complete original velvet lining. The hinged cover with a bust print of Sir Walter Scott.

The box is covered in Stuart Tartan with it's little original gold on black label and the front with a shield shaped label "Scott's Poetical Works". The push button above is intact to open the box.

The books all have Tartanware front & back boards and gilt tooled red straight grain Morocco leather spines. The books are all in superb condition. Each of the books is marked with the Tartan name: Lord Of The Isles - McPherson; Marmion - Prince Charlie; Bridal of Triermain - Stuart; Lady of The Lakes - Stuart; Rokeby - McClean; Lay of Last Minstrel - McClean.

The box measures 8" x 6 1/2" x 4 1/2" and each book measures 5 1/2" x 3 3/4". Truly a magnificent set for the advanced collector.
