A charcoal and chalk drawing of a rolling landscape on blue paper. This is very much a drawing in the Gainsborough style.

Dr Monro was an art enthusiast and physician. His medical works saw him attending George III and overseeing Bedlam. Whilst he used his art collection to advance and promote the careers of artist such as Turner, Girtin, Cozen, Cotman, Henry Hunt, John and Cornelius Varley to name a few.
