Art Deco 1.60 Old Cut Carat Diamond Engagement Ring, French, Circa 1930

1920 - 1940
Description

This is phenomenal high quality workmanship from a master craftsman. The diamond, a very high white, is very close to flawless. Full of fire and brilliance, this sparkles like mad. But what really sets this apart is the majestic mount; intricate filigree carving on the all over the shoulders and gallery, with six accent stones (three either side) on the band and a groove around the band. The unusual wide and flat claws are so well made that seems to melt into the stone.

French Hallmarks.

Cut - Old European Cut.

Colour - H; near colourless.

Clarity - VS.

Carat - Approximately 1.60 in the centre with a further estimated 0.12 carat in shoulders.

Condition - General wear consistent with age, but in overall good condition.

Circa - 1930.

Size - Currently K (UK) or 5 1/8 (US). Complementary sizing is available, can go up or down.

Measurements - The diamond, including the claws, measures 8mm by 8mm and sits 6.1mm from the finger.

Metal - Platinum. Tested.
