Gents Vintage 1940s Marvin Wrist Watch

1920 - 1940
Description

A gents 1940s Marvin wrist watch.

The watch has a calibre 565 Swiss hand-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over a 24 hour period. The movement is signed Marvin.

The watch measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The front of the case case is plated and there is some marking and pitting commensurate with its age. The snap-on case back is stainless steel and it has the Marvin name inside. The back of the watch has the original owner's initials of W.M.K.

The lens has three short scratches but you have to look quite closely to see them.

The signed dial has a very good vintage look. It is in its original finish which has darkened with age and there is faint freckling. Blued steel hands, subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch has a later black leather strap.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
