Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1800s.
It is surmounted by a white marble urn and the whole case is richly decorated with ormolu garlands; panels; feet and a central figure of a putto.

The eight-day movement strikes hours and half-hours on a bell, with outside count wheel and silk suspension, whilst the convex dial is in fine condition and signed by the maker: (Furet a Paris*) whilst the delightful engraved an pierced hands are original. 19ins high; 12ins wide; 6ins deep. (48 x 30.5 x 15cms)
The family Furet were clockmakers in Paris from as early as 1691 until well into the 19th century.
