Antique Georgian Regency Oak Library Bookcase C1820

Antique Georgian Regency Oak Library Bookcase and dating from around 1820. Constructed form quality oak it has a cornice top above two arched glazed panelled doors with original brass escutcheons and working key. Internally there is an adjustable shelf above a fixed shelf and various open compartments below with small cabinet door to the centre and above a row of four small drawers all of which are oak lined. The base has a moulded edge to the top above a long slim drawer which is oak lined with brass handles. There are two panelled doors each having a fielded panel and with brass 'H' hinges and original brass escutcheons and working key. Internally there is a fixed shelf. It is moulded to the base and stands on bracket feet. The top separates for ease of transporting.

Measures: 76" high x 16" deep ( internal depth top 9.5") x 40" wide

In very good original condition with a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
