A Fine Mahogany 20 Drawer Collectors Cabinet by Hills of London.

1920 - 1940
Description

This is a fine example of the work of j.j.hill and son of willesden n.w.7. The cabinet makers works were at the yewfield road address for many years where hill manufactured the familiar institutional stacking cabinets which became much used by universities, museums, research units and, indeed, by private collectors.

This cabinet is one of their 'flagship' models which would have been produced with very much the private collector in mind.this example was made circa 1930.

The cabinet has twenty drawers all with closely fitted glazed frames to protect and display the contents. These are full continental depth and are papered and have corked bases. Re-papering can be facilitated by our workshop if required. This work carried out to the highest standard.

This is a very good and attractive cabinet with a solid mahogany paneled door. (the panel can be removed and the door glazed to show the drawers if required). Good sized drawers giving superb capacity. All in good condition.

Dimensions.

Height. 55.25 inches.

Width. 22 inches.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
