Description

A fantastic and unusual Victorian inkwell made from a hefty piece of crystal cut into the shape of a classic urn.

The glass is set into a stand made from cast brass with two handles for the glass urn body.

The hinged lid is just fabulous, in the form of a Cockerel or Rooster, beautifully executed and retaining it's two original glass eyes. Dating to around 1880, this wonderful desk-top gem is in excellent condition. The base diameter measures 3 1/2", the inkwell standing 6 3/4" tall.
