Antique Edwardian Mahogany Single Bureau Bookcase C1900

Antique Edwardian Mahogany Single Bureau Bookcase in the Regency Style and dating form around 1900. Constructed from quality mahogany it has a cornice top with dental moulding and cross banded frieze above a single astragal glazed panelled door with working key and with three adjustable shelves. To the base there is a fall front bureau which opens to reveal a very nice serpentine shaped interior with a central door with a false bottom which reveals a SECRET compartment. To each side there are three pigeon holes with shaped frieze one of which is a SECRET drawer and above two short and two long drawer to each side. To the base there are four long graduated drawers all of which are oak lined with brass handles and it stands on bracket feet. The top separates for ease of transporting.

Measures: 82" high ( knee height to bureau 25")x 17.5" deep x internal depth 8" x 26" wide

In very good original condition with a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
