Pair of Antique Swedish Satin Birch Armchairs

Description

Fabulous pair of Swedish antique William 1V satin birch armchairs, which I believe date from around the 1830-40 period. These chairs are in excellent original condition, very sturdy & have a lovely original colour. Swedish satin birch is one of my favourite woods, because it always has a wonderful silky finish, lovely graining & a great patina. There are some fine carvings on back rails, the arms are scrolled over & they have well turned legs. These chairs have just come over from Sweden. They have been polished & re-upholstered in a Swedish linen fabric.

Height - 35", 89 cm

Seat Height - 21", 53 cm
