Antique English Brass Counter Bell - Dated 28th February 1883

Description

A wonderful antique English desk or counter bell beautifully cast with a pierced or reticulated base with a mythical figure head in each corner.

The bell itself is cast with pots of flowers and foliage, the bell giving an authoritative ring when struck from the top.

The underside reveal not one but two English Design Registration Diamond Shaped Lozenges, only applied to items of notable design and quality, hence why these pieces are always more sought-after. The lozenge allows us to date it's registration to February 28th, 1883.

A lovely bell in superb condition. 4 3/4" square x 3" tall.
