A Good Early 19th Century Drop-dial Wall Clock

Description

A very good and impressive early 19th century mahogany DROP-DIAL WALL CLOCK by James Condliff of LIVERPOOL.

The mahogany case features a trunk with shaped "ear" pieces and finely figured inlay to the "cushion" shaped trunk, whilst the narrow surround to the cast brass bezel, is of moulded solid mahogany.

The eight-day fusee movement with its precision pendulum, retains its original painted dial to the solid mahogany dial plate and the blued steel hands are also original. Full working order and guaranteed for at least two years. Dial: 14ins (35.5cms) diameter.

** James Condliff, a well-known Liverpool clockmaker, is recorded working in the city from 1818 until 1836.
