Description

A wonderful and unusual sauce boat, dating to the late nineteenth century, around 1890.

The double handles sauce boat comes with an integral under-plate to catch any drips, certainly an innovative and very practical design. The foliate handles each side are just beautiful and highly decorative.

The underside is fully marked with the makers mark plus the full name Alejeune and the words Metal Blanc meaning silver plated. The inside of the boat is lavishly gilded to create a very grand and impressive dining table gem. Excellent condition, measuring 9 3/4" x 7" overall x 4" tall.
