Magnificent Antique Austrian Cold Painted Bronze Inkwell C.1900 - Bird

Description

An absolutely stunning inkwell and an unusual find too. The cut glass inkwell is made from iridescent glass showcasing an array of colours and sits in a brass base.

The collar and lid of the inkwell is also made from polished brass. On top of this sits a wonderful Austrian Cold Painted Bronze bird in flight, perhaps a Kingfisher? The bird has two tiny inset glass eyes, quite wonderful.

Dating to around 1900, this desk-top gem is in excellent condition. The base of the inkwell measures 3 1/4" and stands 4 1/2" tall; the bird's wingspan measures 4".
