JAPAY FRERES, 81 An early, small French 'one-piece' case carriage clock. A large bevelled glass top aperture with repeat button through the glass. An enamel dial with 'moon' blued steel hands. A decorative carrying handle. The original lever escapement to the 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a gong. Rear winding hole shutters. Japay stamp mark showing medals from 1823-1849.
