Description

Circa 1900 - 1930 this unusual brushed pewter chandelier has ornate arms shaped like dragons with candle cups on their heads holding the lights.

It was fashionable at the time to slightly burnish pewter to bring out a subtle blue colour, and this can be seen in the central column.

The chandelier measures approximately 53cm in height and 60cm across; it is very heavy and in good condition, and it comes with a superb original ceiling hook to match.

It was rewired by the previous owner and the electric cable runs inside the dragons 'wings' and into the central column.

The glass drops may have been added at a later stage, but they can be removed easily if preferred.
