FJ & RD Story Antique Clocks has dated this piece to the 1890s.
Fitted internally with letter slots and inkwell holders.

The lower section of inverted breakfront form with an inset olive green leather writing surface, with gilded and tooled work.
The central frieze drawer is flanked by three further small drawers, the whole supported on eight square tapering inlaid legs terminating on brass roller feet.

The drawers with satinwood cross banded decoration and ebony and boxwood inlaid detail.
The central drawer and upper drawer lids are profusely inlaid with the finest marquetry inlaid decoration depicting flowing marquetry floral garlands, again cross banded in satinwood with ebony line inlaid detail.

The desk also having superb silver plated brass handles and the original London made brass locks (Hobbs of London) complete with working key.
In addition there are two original silver plated and glass inkwells.

Both internal and external panels are in beautiful fiddle back and flame mahogany with satinwood cross banding and boxwood stringing.
Dimensions: 42" wide x 22" deep x 29.5" high at front and 37" high at the rear.
Condition: This desk is in fine condition throughout.
