Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the 1930s.
Upholstered in a blue/green coloured velvet, it stands on square legs, with tapered carvings at top and bottom.

To the underside of the stool is the makers stamp; Waring & Gillows along with date (1937) along with a "GR VI" monogram and "coronation".

Condition Report:
Fairly solid - some slight give to legs. Wear and marks comenusrate with age. Some marks to the upholstery with one area of fabric stained (see photos) - webbing still ok. No worm of splits to the frame. Brackets to the unerneath at either side which appear to be original.
