Christian Davies Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The frieze having an ivory and ebony inlaid shell paterae above the panelled mahogany door which is centred by a wonderful quality ivory and marquetry inlaid panel depicting Griffins and a central Adam style urn with trailing foliate and swag detail. The door opens to reveal four mahogany shelves originally used for storing sheet music, but can now be used for storing newspapers, magazines and CDs etc. Having solid mahogany sides and supported on ring turned supports. English circa 1880-1890
