Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The sides and back are decorated with more simple gilded oriental motifs.
The top section has two fitted ring runs top and bottom to accommodate six or seven rings each. There are then two long central sections the width of the box, perfect for a wrist watch.

The drawers are all lined too, the top one with a section for a pocket watch.
The box stands on four original brass Lion's Paw feet, typical of the era, dating to around 1820.
Complete with a working key, the box remains in excellent condition. The footprint measures 10 1/4" x 8 1/4"; the lid measures 10" x 8", the cabinet standing 9 1/4" high.
