A fine quality London mahogany longcase clock. A pagoda hood pediment with fretwork and flanked by 2 brass finials. Side glass hood apertures. Brass stopped fluted hood columns with brass capitals. A long arched trunk door with moulded edge. A raised moulded plinth panel and standing on a double skirting. An engraved brass dial with date, seconds and strike/silent to the arch. A fine quality 5-pillar mechanism of 8-day duration striking the hours on a bell. Brass cased weights and a 'London' brass flat rod pendulum.

Whiteaves & Raves of Fleet Street, London worked in the late 1700's. Whiteaves was admitted to the Clockmakers Company in 1768 and Raves in 1788.
