Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1960s.
The watch is the 28 jewel fully automatic movement, as you can see it is in fabulous condition.
The original starburst dial is in superb condition, it has gilt baton markers and gilt hands and the Movado logo on the crown, again all of which are completely original. It has just been professionally serviced and a new glass has been fitted.
As you would expect the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and case.
The heavy solid 14ct gold case is fully hallmarked with import marks.
It comes complete with its original presentation box again which is in wonderful condition and a premium quality genuine chestnut brown leather strap.
Movado are one of the most exclusive watchmakers in the world and this watch certainly has that understated elegance that whispers class.
The watch case measures 34mm in diameter not including the crown.
Overall this watch is in outstanding original condition and highly sought after by Movado collectors, indeed it looks as if it was rarely worn.
As you can see it is accurate to within 2 seconds per day which is incredible for a watch over 50 years old.
The watch has been fully serviced by Alan Willimas FBHI and is guaranteed to be a genuine Movado in all respects. It has been professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.
It is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers parts. Each part is then thoroughly cleaned in a three stage ultrasonic cleaning process.
The movement is then fully assembled using manufacturers approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. The cases are polished and sealed.
Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give you reliable and dependable service and will not require further service for many years.
The watch movement comes with a full 1 year warranty.
