Antique English Novelty Sterling Silver Postage Stamp Box - 1909

Description

A wonderful and quite charming Edwardian postage stamp box in the form of a bow fronted desk or side table, with two drawer pulls to the front.

Standing on four elegant legs, the hinged lid opens to reveal a double compartment postage stamp box with the original gilded interior.

The box is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1909, together with the makers initials for Arthur & John Zimmerman. Inside the lid, there is also an English Design Registration number for the year 1899.

Excellent condition, measuring 2 1/4" x 1 1/2" and standing 1 3/8" tall.
