Wonderful quality inlaid mahogany chest of drawers, or commode.
The serpentine shaped top with satinwood cross-banding and geometric inlaid stringing, sits above a brushing slide and four graduated serpentine drawers with herringbone and line stringing, and brass handles, flanked by cluster corner columns, the whole raised on shaped bracket feet. The sides are similarly decorated with geometric and line inlaid stringing.
The drawers are oak lined. The top drawer was formerly fitted with divisions. The insides of the drawer fronts have some gouge marks.
This piece is offered in unrestored condition and would benefit from polishing. There are some minor repairs to the veneer (see close-ups)
