A Wonderful Sepia by the Norwich School Artist Thomas Lound 1802 -1861
 
The drawing depicts a Broadland Staithe probably Postwick with workers loading a wherry with timber. They are using the winch used in hauling the wherry sail to lift the timber aboard. Another where is being quanted in the distance.
 
Thomas Lound owned a brewery in King Street Norwich. He was pupil, patron and close friend to a number of major members of the Norwich School. Lound exhibited extensively having 18 at the Royal Academy 1845-1855 and 10 exhibits at the British Institution 1846-1857.
